Dr. Allan Woodbury, P.Eng
Allan Woodbury, is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil Engineering, Water Resources/Geotechnical Divisions, at the University of Manitoba and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at UBC Okanagan. Since 1987, Dr. Woodbury has taught undergraduate and graduate water resources engineering and groundwater hydrogeology at McGill University and the University of Manitoba. Since that time, he has established a productive research program in hydrogeology. Publications have been targeted to Geophysical Research Letters, Journal of Geophysical Research, Water Resources Research, Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, Geophysical Journal International, Geophysics, Ground Water, Advances In Water Resources and other leading-edge publications (internationally) in the groundwater and earth sciences fields. All of the above journals have high journal impact factors, and many of these works have been widely cited. Dr. Woodbury has an extensive publication record in pioneering probabilistic methods, incorporating temperature measurements in hydrologic analysis, aquifer characterization, and the solution of ill-posed problems. He has had numerous invitations for speaking at conferences and workshops. These include the American Geophysical Union, the National Ground Water Association and the Geological Society of America, as well as other universities and private organizations. Dr. Woodbury was awarded the Winnipeg Rh society Rh award in 1992 for research excellence the the applied sciences and the CAUT Dedicated Service Award in 2005.
