We are so glad to see that another issue of the Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association’s (MFGA) Grasslander has been published, providing a timely update on the ongoing work that the MFGA and Aquanty have been putting into the MFGA-Aquanty Forecasting Tool - a state-of-the-art hydrologic forecasting and water management tool designed to bolster and plan for producer, community, and industry resiliency. This user-friendly web application provides an agriculture-focused decision support tool that will allow stakeholders within Assiniboine River Basin (ARB) to obtain soil moisture, groundwater, and surface water forecasts for a 7-day forward-looking time interval.

The Grasslander is the MFGA’s personal invite and outreach for you to learn more about this exciting hydrologic modelling tool and to motivate your thoughts and actions to incorporate, challenge and embrace this cutting-edge model in creative ways and visionary scenarios that will benefit the entire Assiniboine River Basin.

The images below provide a small glimpse of the platform, but you’ll need to read the Grasslander to get a better idea of the impact that this tool is having on producers efforts to adapt to climate change, mitigate water stress and build resilient agroecosystems.
