NEW version of HGS PREMIUM June 2025 (REVISION 2845)
The HydroGeoSphere Revision 2845 (June 2025) is now available for download.
This month’s update focuses on runtime performance, improved boundary condition flexibility, and simplifying model setup tasks. Combined with targeted refactoring and bug fixes, this release continues our focus on making large and complex HydroGeoSphere (HGS) models easier to build and run more efficiently.
1. New runtime optimization options for grok.exe
Added environment variable flags (
HGS_NODE_SEARCH_OPT
,HGS_FACE_SEARCH_OPT
,HGS_ELEMENT_SEARCH_OPT
) to enable faster selection of nodes, faces, or elements during input parsing.Intended for large models requiring extensive list processing— these options significantly reduce grok.exe runtime.
2. Refactored node selection commands
Commands such as
choose nodes list
,choose nodes 2d-list sheet
, andchoose nodes xyz list
now support commented and blank lines in input files. This improves performance and input file flexibility for complex model setups.
3. New boundary condition command: head offset
Allows users to apply a head offset to all specified head BCs.
Extends functionality that was previously limited to
head equals elevation
.This update makes the older
elevation offset
condition obsolete.
4. New command: choose nodes from node set
Enables selection of nodes from a predefined node set file.
Improves usability when working with organized or repeatable node groups.
You can find details about these new features in the HydroGeoSphere Reference Manual. And as always, we are committed to the continued improvement to the user experience. Do you have suggestions for new commands or improvements to the user experience? Send your ideas to support@aquanty.com!
