The 2026 Latornell Conservation Symposium returns this November, bringing together conservation professionals, researchers, practitioners, and partners from across Ontario to share knowledge, practical solutions, and new approaches to watershed management and conservation.

LOCATION: Nottawasaga Resort & Conference Centre, Alliston, Ontario
This year’s theme, Powered by Purpose: Strong Watersheds, Strong Communities, recognizes the shared commitment driving conservation and watershed management across the province. The symposium will also acknowledge 80 years since the passage of the Conservation Authorities Act in 1946, while looking ahead at how science, innovation, partnerships, and collective action can strengthen watersheds and build more resilient communities.
Over two days, attendees can take part in expert presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, networking opportunities, and local field trips. Session topics will span watershed planning and science, water resource monitoring and research, climate change adaptation and resilience, source water protection, natural heritage, agriculture, land use planning, and new technologies and approaches.
Latornell 2026 provides an opportunity to connect diverse perspectives from across Ontario and explore practical tools, research, and initiatives supporting healthier watersheds and communities.
