Join Us for the HydroGeoSphere Short Course in Seoul!

We’re excited to share that Aquanty’s HydroGeoSphere (HGS) Short Course will be offered in partnership with GeoGreen21 from July 13–16, 2026 in Seoul, South Korea. This intensive training program led by Aquanty’s own Hyoun-Tae Hwang is designed for graduate students, researchers and industry professionals interested in integrated hydrologic modelling.

DATE: JULY 13–16, 2026
LOCATION: GEOGREEN21, GURO-GU, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

HydroGeoSphere is a fully integrated numerical model capable of simulating three-dimensional groundwater–surface water flow and contaminant transport. Widely used in hydrologic research and engineering applications, HGS enables users to investigate complex interactions between surface water and groundwater systems.

This four-day course combines theoretical lectures with hands-on exercises, providing participants with practical experience in developing, operating, and calibrating integrated hydrologic models. Through step-by-step watershed-scale case studies, attendees will gain valuable skills for building robust numerical models and implementing efficient simulation workflows.

Course Topics Include:

  • Groundwater–surface water interactions and contaminant transport

  • Development of integrated hydrologic models using HydroGeoSphere

  • Data preparation and preprocessing techniques

  • High-resolution mesh generation methods

  • HGS simulation workflows and interpretation of modelling results

  • Model calibration and application of HGS-PEST

  • Numerical optimization and runtime improvements

  • Particle tracking and Hydraulic Mixing Cell applications

Participants will have the opportunity to learn while gaining practical skills that can be applied to research, consulting, environmental management and water resource engineering projects.
